UNs Convention on the Right of the Child - Good intentions or actual change for the children?
This year is the Child Right Conventions 20th anniversary. The UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Right of the Child in 1990. 193 countries have ratified the agreement, and many countries have incorporated it in their national law, Norway included (2003).
But has this agreement had any concrete effects to the children’s rights?
PRESS Save the Children Student Oslo are pleased to invite you to a seminar about the UNs Conventions on the Right of the Child. We aim to both give an introduction to this topic, and to discuss how the children have benefited from this agreement.
Our speaker Elin Saga Kjørholt has a degree in law. She has worked with Save The Children on the topic both in Oslo and Nepal. She is currently working with child rights at the Center for Human Rights in Oslo. There will be time for questions and debate.
You are welcome to our mini seminar on the UNs Convention on The Right of the Child!
Time: 18.00
Date: Thursday12. February. 2009
